A Bricktastic Adventure!

** I was not compensated for this post. I received admission tickets for review purposes. The opinions are completely based on my own experience.**

This past week I was blessed to be able to explore LEGOLAND, CA with my youngest son on his birthday! We absolutely love all things Lego in our house! Whether it’s his Star Wars Lego sets, or his hundreds of Classic Legos, my child adores spending much time with this classic toy! I loved these as a child so sharing them with my boys has been such a wonderful reminder of my own childhood… The Lego Movies have been such a huge hit in our home too! The Batman Movie and Lego Ninjago are two of our fave movies! We could watch them over and over!

As my regular readers know, my youngest son has special needs. Developmentally he is  under 8 although on the day of our visit he turned 18! I can not thank Legoland enough for their kindness and consideration during our visit. From the moment we arrived, guest services provided me information about what rides may or may not be enjoyable for my sensory child… They shared so much helpful information to make our visit the best it could be!  Throughout the day all of the staff we met were so helpful and their kindness shone thru… Truly they helped us to have a remarkable day!

Legoland, California
Entering Legoland for a day of fun and adventure!

Boo was SO excited! We grabbed a map and headed to Fun Town where we went on a Lego Factory Tour and went on the Kid Power Tower! Racing Firetrucks at the Police and Fire Academy had my son grinning ear to ear! He was so thrilled to be here!

We went to make a quick stop in the water park to put our items in a locker for later in the day but Boo eyed these GIANT Legos and he wanted to build! It was shaded and comfortable and he spent much time building creations! ( ** Note to my readers: If you are doing both the theme park and the water park, I highly suggest you go into the water park when it opens and rent a locker before you explore Legoland. They are rather large and very inexpensive. The locker area is extremely clean including spacious changing rooms for families.)

We then made our way to Explorer Island where Boo was so excited to ride the Safari Trek and dig for dinosaur bones at Dig Those Dinos! His favorite ride of all was Fairy Tale Brook! We rode this 3 times!

We enjoyed seeing so many iconic places built from Legos as we explored MINILAND! It is truly amazing to see everything from the NY city skyline to the Eiffel Tower replicated with these famous bricks!

We are huge Star Wars fans so we loved seeing all the amazing Star Wars figures built entirely from Legos! They even had the Death Star! Absolutely fabulous!!!!

Boo grabbed my hand and his eyes lit up with excitement as he saw the entrance to LEGO NINJAGO WORLD!!! He loved seeing so many characters and The Lego Ninjago Ride was SO  much fun! I enjoyed this ride as much as he did!

We had so much fun exploring other areas too such as Castle Hill and Imagination Zone! Finally we headed out to The BIG Shop! We loved looking at all of the amazing selections and Boo had so much fun picking a treasure to take home! They had everything from Classic Lego sets to Lego backpacks! We even saw Lego Harry Potter sets! ( We forgave them for displaying them on Slytherin and not Griffindor! hahaha! )

Boo had been on the lookout for Lego Batman because he wore his Batman shirt and was thrilled to find not only Batman, but a Storm Trooper too!

I could not have asked for a better birthday for my son! We were so blessed to have this amazing day! Check in next week for the next post in our Legoland Series and see what we found at SeaLife Legoland! I’d love to hear from my readers– What is the most amazing thing you have ever built from Legos?

  1. I can’t wait to take my boys to Legoland! My toddlers are just getting into legos and I can already see that it will become an obsession in our house!

    1. Hi Nicole! They will have such a fun time exploring Legoland! 🙂

  2. Oh my gosh, what an awesome day! And Happy Birthday to your son!!! My boys (ages 3 & 5) have really been into their Legos lately. We have all of them from when my husband and his brother were kids plus their new ones. I just bought a bunch of things to help organize because they were all in one bin. We want to take them to the Legoland in Florida next time we visit that area.

    1. Thank you so much Stephanie! He had such an amazing birthday here! I need to get some smaller bins to organize ours too.. Right now they are all in one huge bin.

  3. Oh, wow, what an awesome birthday treat for both of you! My girls are obsessed with building houses (8yo) and cars/trucks (6yo) with their legos – I totally was just like the 8yo when I was little, always trying to design a better house. Though she also designs a lot of parks and playgrounds and things like RV/campers 🙂

    1. Hi Flossie! Isn’t it fabulous when we can share the love of toys we enjoyed when little with our kiddos? 🙂

  4. Christa

I really would like to explore this place if and when I get the opportunity to visit. There was a LEGO attraction in the Mall of America, but I think LEGOland is a lot better! 1. Hi Elizabeth! That is so very true! I am 44 years young and I still love Lego! 🙂

  40. You are so lucky that everyone is so kind and paying so much attention to the special needs of your child helping him to get the best out of everything! I’m really happy for you and for the adventure you had at LegoLand!

    1. Thanks Corina! I felt very blessed! 🙂

  41. We had a Legoland just open up a year ago and it isn’t really popular. The reason why that it is too much money and not a lot of stuff to do, unlike the one in California. I wish ours was like the one you went to.

    1. Hi Aisasami, I’m so sorry you did not have the same enjoyment… Where is yours located? I have heard from my readers that there are some really awesome ones in other areas from California and I myself hope to visit the Orlando location with my son someday!

  42. He looks like he is having such a wonderful time! I must confess I love seeing everything other people can make with LEGO, and can imagine my nephews in this place. Growing up I absolutely hated LEGO because my brother used to leave them laying around and at the most unexpected times one of us would step on it 🙁 I could definitely see myself playing with the giant legos though 🙂

    1. Hi Razena! Stepping on a Lego has happened around here too 🙂
