This past week I was blessed to be able to explore LEGOLAND, CA with my youngest son on his birthday! We absolutely love all things Lego in our house! Whether it’s his Star Wars Lego sets, or his hundreds of Classic Legos, my child adores spending much time with this classic toy! I loved these as a child so sharing them with my boys has been such a wonderful reminder of my own childhood… The Lego Movies have been such a huge hit in our home too! The Batman Movie and Lego Ninjago are two of our fave movies! We could watch them over and over!
As my regular readers know, my youngest son has special needs. Developmentally he is under 8 although on the day of our visit he turned 18! I can not thank Legoland enough for their kindness and consideration during our visit. From the moment we arrived, guest services provided me information about what rides may or may not be enjoyable for my sensory child… They shared so much helpful information to make our visit the best it could be! Throughout the day all of the staff we met were so helpful and their kindness shone thru… Truly they helped us to have a remarkable day!
Boo was SO excited! We grabbed a map and headed to Fun Town where we went on a Lego Factory Tour and went on the Kid Power Tower! Racing Firetrucks at the Police and Fire Academy had my son grinning ear to ear! He was so thrilled to be here!
We went to make a quick stop in the water park to put our items in a locker for later in the day but Boo eyed these GIANT Legos and he wanted to build! It was shaded and comfortable and he spent much time building creations! ( ** Note to my readers: If you are doing both the theme park and the water park, I highly suggest you go into the water park when it opens and rent a locker before you explore Legoland. They are rather large and very inexpensive. The locker area is extremely clean including spacious changing rooms for families.)
We then made our way to Explorer Island where Boo was so excited to ride the Safari Trek and dig for dinosaur bones at Dig Those Dinos! His favorite ride of all was Fairy Tale Brook! We rode this 3 times!
We enjoyed seeing so many iconic places built from Legos as we explored MINILAND! It is truly amazing to see everything from the NY city skyline to the Eiffel Tower replicated with these famous bricks!
We are huge Star Wars fans so we loved seeing all the amazing Star Wars figures built entirely from Legos! They even had the Death Star! Absolutely fabulous!!!!
Boo grabbed my hand and his eyes lit up with excitement as he saw the entrance to LEGO NINJAGO WORLD!!! He loved seeing so many characters and The Lego Ninjago Ride was SO much fun! I enjoyed this ride as much as he did!
We had so much fun exploring other areas too such as Castle Hill and Imagination Zone! Finally we headed out to The BIG Shop! We loved looking at all of the amazing selections and Boo had so much fun picking a treasure to take home! They had everything from Classic Lego sets to Lego backpacks! We even saw Lego Harry Potter sets! ( We forgave them for displaying them on Slytherin and not Griffindor! hahaha! )
Boo had been on the lookout for Lego Batman because he wore his Batman shirt and was thrilled to find not only Batman, but a Storm Trooper too!
I could not have asked for a better birthday for my son! We were so blessed to have this amazing day! Check in next week for the next post in our Legoland Series and see what we found at SeaLife Legoland! I’d love to hear from my readers– What is the most amazing thing you have ever built from Legos?
