Hi everyone! I hope that you all had a lovely holiday and are enjoying this wonderful new year … My little boy and I were recently blessed both with tickets for Disney parks & a wonderful stay at The Disneyland Hotel!!! Needless to say, we were thrilled and excited to go to The Happiest Place On Earth to spend our Christmas!
My boys and I absolutely adore all things Disney and although my oldest could not be home for the holidays this year, my youngest son and I were thrilled to have this opportunity.
Boo was excitedly counting down the days until we left and was so happy the day we set forth in our car for the… Disney Drive…. It’s around a 6 hour drive and we sang Christmas songs almost the entire drive. As we pulled into Anaheim he perked up with excitement. His eyes grew huge as he took in the monstrous sign announcing we had found The Disneyland Hotel.
Normally we stay at budget friendly Good Neighbor hotels so staying here was truly an amazing gift to us. The moment we pulled up in front of the lobby we were met by the most amazing and polite young man who took our luggage for us. As we headed to the lobby to check in, Boo squeezed my hand and said, “Mama!!! Mickey and Minnie!”
Then I heard just the smallest little poof of air escape him in excitement— as we had entered the front lobby, the most beautiful and fun gingerbread house stood before us. We were both so excited and filled with happiness to see this beautiful sight…. We had ARRIVED for our Disney Christmas vacation!!!
Check in was a breeze and they even had a room ready for us right away! Bell services had our luggage delivered in almost no time at all and we were excited to explore the Hotel before heading over to Disneyland. We loved finding little bits of Disney everywhere we looked….
We were in a standard room and it was amazing! At night we even had a view of the fireworks which was totally unexpected. I had expected a standard room to be small but honestly this was a very spacious room for my little boy and myself. We had two queen beds and plenty of room to move around. Boo called me giggling from the bathroom when he discovered the Mickey hands holding the lights.
The BEST surprise however was the beautiful headboard so large it spanned over both our beds…. Etched into the wood was the most gorgeous outline of Cinderella’s Castle and there was a button on the nightstand you could push that made fireworks light up over the castle and played the lullaby “When you wish upon a star…” Truly Disney pays attention to every single detail and makes every room an enchanted experience!
The hotel was truly wonderful…. Everywhere you looked there was Disney Magic. Christmas was truly in the air and we were just so happy to be there! Boo was so excited to enjoy a Disney treat in our room! Everything about this hotel was absolutely relaxing and fun!
Being guests at the Disney Resort we had easy access to the Monorail to get into the park. This made life SO much easier! Also we were treated to Magic Morning because of staying at the resort. This meant we got into the parks WAY earlier than the general public and could just walk onto rides because there was hardly anyone else there. This was especially nice for traveling with my special needs son so that we could see some of his favorite rides before there were crowds of people.
One of my favorite things about staying at the resort was how wonderfully they decorated for Christmas!!
Christmas Eve morning we were blessed to enjoy the most amazing breakfast at our hotel. Boo was grinning ear to ear when I told him we would have breakfast at Goofy’s Kitchen!!! We had fun exploring while we waited for them to open and Boo found this awesome racecar to play in :
This was such an amazing experience… We met Goofy as we arrived and then Chip or maybe it was Dale came and personally escorted us to our seats!
I loved that the food was served buffet style so kiddos can pick out whatever looks good to them and Boo loved all the characters that stopped by our table to visit with us! Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale and even Minnie Mouse! Boo got autographs and visited with each one. He was super excited and I have to say it’s well worth a visit here if you ever travel with your kiddos to Disneyland, California. You don’t have to stay at the resort to eat here but I highly recommend making reservations as far in advance as possible.
Overall we had a lovely few days at Disney and made some wonderful new memories. Boo even picked up some cool Christmas socks!
Check in next week to see the next installment of my Disney Series and I’d love to hear from my readers: What is your fave Disney memory?
