Just because....

Queen Creek Olive Mill

This past week my boys and I were blessed to be given a tour of Queen Creek Olive Mill! I have heard wonderful reviews but never had the chance to visit before…. Now the kids and I have a new fave place for lunch and can’t wait to bring our out of town guests here!

things to do
David and Boo waiting to start our tour

We met with Emily who started our tour showing us around the beautiful grounds and explaining to us how this family owned company grows and presses olives for all of us to enjoy.

Olive Oil 101!!!

The grounds are simply beautiful and there are plenty of tables for relaxing with your family without it being too crowded… The hundreds of olive trees dotting the landscape shaded us and felt cooling, even on this hot summer morning… This was such a lovely way to start our day!

Emily was so sweet and very patient with my son with my special needs. His expressive language can be difficult to understand but she  just listened carefully and sweetly answered his questions.

With our tour guide Emily!

I highly recommend if you are in the Valley of the Sun, or coming to visit, that you add The Queen Creek Olive Mill  to your must-do-list! The tour itself taught me so much about olive oil and how to choose a proper oil. I have actually wondered before and never knew.

Olive Mill
Boo was excited to see olives growing in the branches!

We also enjoyed learning the process our oil makes to end up on our table.  Eating pesticide free is a huge concern for my family  and we learned the mill does not use pesticides on their trees!

After the tour, the boys were happy to sit down and eat. There is a beautiful eatery where Boo and I enjoyed a gorgeous cheese, olive and fruit tray and David ate what he described as the best sandwich he’s ever had! The food was absolutely delightful to the senses and we enjoyed every single bite!  The boys finished off their meal with huge scoops of Gelatto!

Boo and I enjoyed every bite of this delicious tray!!

We then spent time looking around this beautiful shop! There are olive oils for every tastebud imaginable and you can sample them all!!

So many to choose from!!!

We tasted so many as well as trying scrumptious treats such as garlic stuffed olives and Almond and cheese stuffed olives… oh my… So. Much. Goodness….

I had fun looking at and trying out so many of their awesome body products! The Orange Dreamsicle lotion smells simply amazing!!!

3 delightful olive oils made it home with us:

Chocolate Olive Oil

Roasted Garlic Olive Oil

Bacon Olive Oil

Yes…. You heard me right… Chocolate ! Bacon! Let me tell you , you have not lived until you have had this…. Boo adores the chocolate…. It smells AMAZING. It tastes AMAZING. Personally, I think it is the best thing since sliced bread… no wait… BETTER!!!!  The Garlic oil is also delicious! It fills all your senses and is amazing on everything from my fresh popped corn to adding a little to my dishes as they cook…. However, the BACON… yes…bacon… OMG!!!!! This is heaven in a bottle. Seriously. Heaven. It is completely vegan and the true bacon taste is achieved with a blend of herbs and spices…  A little goes a long way and my boys have delighted in my using this  olive oil this week as I make their breakfast omelettes! Seriously… it has the taste of bacon in our breakfast without all the fat and calories of  bacon!

I am so glad we finally visited this amazing local landmark and  now there is no where else I will ever buy my olive oil! I’d love to hear from my readers: What would your dream olive oil be?

Be sure to visit and take this fun tour and if you’re too far away, check them out online!
