Hi everyone! Today’s the last post in my Disney Series…. I can’t not even begin to express how much fun we had on our Disney Dream Vacation! With my older son working at Disney in the Disney College Program, he was earned free tickets into the parks for his family. This enabled us to stay longer and see more parks than we otherwise would have! This was truly a dream vacation! However, all good things come to an end and today was the day we checked out of that fun Disney Resort and headed to the airport to make our way home. Our flight was not until almost 6pm though so my son David invited his little brother and I to join him at Disney Springs to have some lunch and explore around.
I have to say… Boo and I LOVED it here!! It was a similar concept to Downtown Disney in Anaheim…. but better! This place was totally awesome!!! First off, it’s against beautiful Lake Buena Vista. Boo and I sat for about 40 min enjoying the scenery early in the morning.
There is so much to see and do! We only spent the morning and early afternoon here but I can see that you could easily spend the whole day here! For a truly spectacular Disney view, climb on board Characters in Flight. It’s a tethered helium balloon ride that lasts approx 10 minutes. Once you’re airborne, you’re treated to breathtaking 360 degree views of Walt Disney World !
Boo’s eyes got huge with excitement when he saw the orange and black Harley Davidson colors in the distance! He is all about ALL things motorcycle! He was thrilled to walk around the shop and look at everything!!! He was eyeing a beautiful motorcycle asking me if we could take it on the plane home, when he asked me if he could touch it… I said, “No, I think we are just suppose to look.” Immediately, a nearby employee gave Boo the thrill of his life telling him to go ahead and climb on up! Boo melted onto that bike like it was made for him and blissfully spent the next 20 minutes pretending to drive it. 🙂
The only way we were able to leave the Harley store was to bring to Boo’s attention that the Marvel store was now open!! We are huge Guardians of the Galaxy fans in our house and Boo had really been wanting a stuffed Rocket. We spent tons of time looking at all the totally cool Marvel products here and of course…. Rocket left the store in Boo’s arms…
Next stop was The Star Wars Store!!!! OMG I don’t know who was more excited about this… me or my boys!!! We were in nirvana looking at all the amazing and cool products here!!!! I think this was the coolest, most awesome store I have ever gone into on Disney property!!!! Between this store and The Marvel Store, we had a great time geeking out!!
Boo loves all things Coca Cola so he was all smiles when his big brother took us to the Coca Cola Store! It was awesome to see so much Coca Cola merchandise… They had just about everything you could imagine and more! The boys loved going up to the rooftop and ordering some ice cold delicious pop to drink in the warm Orlando sunshine! After enjoying their pop, we even had the chance to meet the Coca Cola Bear!
After all this walking around, I had two very hungry boys so we decided to have a special lunch at Planet Hollywood!
One of Boo’s fave shows is Diners, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri. Boo was super excited to see that Guy had planned the menu for this location and was grinning ear to ear to eat there!
My boys and I totally geek out over so many fandoms so this was the perfect place for us! We walked in and immediately saw Chewbacca, Spiderman & Superman!
Of course my Trekkie heart swooned at seeing a model of The Enterprise!
From our table we were treated to a view of items both from Star Wars & Rocky!!
After lunch we headed out to gather our luggage from the hotel and made our way back to the airport… Tired but happy…. I’d like to thank my readers for following me on this Disney Series and I’d love to know– What is your dream vacation?
