The second day of our Orlando Vacation Boo could barely eat his breakfast…. He was so excited because his big brother David was coming to the resort to pick us up and take us to The Magic Kingdom !!! My oldest son (who was participating in the Disney College Program) had earned tickets to take his brother and I to several theme parks during our visit. 🙂
David arrived with a surprise that made Boo grin from ear to ear! Mickey Mouse Ears!!!! We put on our Disney attire, sprinkled some pixie dust, and made our way to the “happiest place on earth…”
We could feel magic in the air as we walked down Main Street and Boo squeezed my hand in excitement, telling me Splash Mountain was first on his list! I have to admit… I adore riding this with my kiddos!
After that, we headed over to my fave ride from childhood…. Pirates of the Caribbean !!
We were lucky enough after the ride to find Captain Jack Sparrow swaggering around the park!!!
We had so much fun exploring Disneyworld! David got his brother Mickey ice cream to enjoy as we looked around and treated us to a delicious lunch with a view of It’s A Small World! Boo was thrilled to meet Elena of Avalor and to try and remove The Sword In The Stone with help from his brother ! 🙂
Boo loves Beauty and The Beast (We’ve seen the live-action version 2x in the theater and watched the animated version countless times…) so he was thrilled to find the Beasts’ castle at the Magic Kingdom!!! Not only can you see the Castle, you can have lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant! It looked amazing but I highly recommend to my readers that you make reservations here ahead of time… Some online sources even recommend trying to book a table as early as 6 months prior to your trip.
Another fun stop was Gaston’s Tavern! Here you can find Lefou’s Brew, slushies, fresh fruit and hummus. People were walking out of here with the largest cinnamon rolls I have ever seen! They looked gigantic!
Boo had a great time climbing The Swiss Family Treehouse with big brother while Mama had a quick rest. Then Boo was giggling with excitement at the idea of scaring Mama on the Haunted Mansion! He loves riding this while we are at Disneyland and was thrilled to find it at the Magic Kingdom! He finds much joy in me pretending to be too afraid to ride this and teases me telling me he is riding with brother so I will be left to ride alone with the…. ghosts….. Ok… full parental disclosure… I freaking LOVE this ride! I love pretending with Boo that I’m scared but honestly this is the one ride I look forward to most…. As he rides this with his older brother, I am blissfully alone in my seat, eyes closed, enjoying the cool air…. relaxing my tired feet for a good 8-10 minutes…. 🙂
As our day began to wind down, we headed over to check out the Buzz Lightyear ride, Monsters, INC and The PeopleMover. My oldest son had discovered this relaxing and joyful ride on one of his days off from Disney and was excited to show this to us… I loved it! Not only was it nice to sit down and put my feet up after a long day of fun, we got to see much of the park and enjoy its beauty from the shady, relaxing ride. This was a perfect way to end our day!
We sprinkled some Disney Magic and boarded one of their buses back to the hotel for some much needed downtime at the pool and to get ready for even more fun the next day!
Be sure to look for the next post in my Disney Series next week about our time at Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom!
I’d love to hear from my readers… What is your favorite Disney ride or if you haven’t been which would be the first you’d like to try!
P.S. I just told my oldest son that I finished my post for this week and he says with a grin the size of Texas and laughing , ” Feel free to refer to me as the grand wizard of Disney Knowledge or the high Jedi, keeper of Disney secrets…” LOL yes… my kiddos are just as obsessed with Disney as I am 🙂
