Silver linings...

The Road of Good Intentions…

The last few weeks I spent time with my boys visiting family and enjoying the holidays. Now it seems that in a blink of an eye, a new year is upon us.  I woke up on this New Years Eve thinking about the past year. So much has happened and it flew by before I knew it.  Like most people, today I began making lists in my head of all the things I will definitely get done in the new year… The reality is that I, in fact , will not accomplish most of these goals. And….. that is OK!!

As I embrace my 42nd year, I realize that not only do I not have to make a list of goals that I may stress about reaching, but rather I can embrace the thought of NOT completing them and letting life lead me in this great journey! I am so excited for the year ahead and the adventures and trials life will bring my way. I don’t know yet exactly how it will all fold out but I’m happy to be along for the ride…

Happiness is in our journey....
Happiness is in our journey…

In years past, I marched bravely into a new year paving my road with all of the goals I would definitely be accomplishing in the next 365 days…. You know what they say about good intentions though?? HaHa! So finally I have reached a moment where I can say, “Who needs this pressure?”  I am excited for what new things are bound to meet me in this new year! I look forward to the trials and triumphs that will surely come my way.

So I’m looking forward to ringing in this new year with optimism and hope! I have no delusions  that at some point in the new year I will encounter trials and tribulations but I also know that I will also endure moments of happiness and joy… So, here’s to NOT making new years resolutions I will inevitably break or fail to start. I’m looking forward to all that this new year brings my way and I wish you all a very happy new year and would love to hear from you how you all feel about making new years resolutions…

This year, live what you love!
This year, live what you love!
